Auditions are vital to obtaining an acting role or a modeling job. Remember that it may take dozens--even hundreds--of auditions before you land the first role. The more auditions you go to, the better your odds of landing a role in a movie or commercial. You can never know which auditions will bring you success; therefore, you must appear for all auditions. Always remain positive and take advantage of every opportunity, especially in front of major entertainment networks.

Having an agent can help you make the right connections in the entertainment industry. But in most cases, a good agent will not consider an actor without professional experience. General Tips for Auditions

1. Always know the part or role you are auditioning for. Make sure you have the characteristics and talents required for the role.
2. Arrive thirty minutes prior to the audition time; this will give you time to check-in, warm up, and check out your competition.
3. Bring at least 2 photos and resumes. Professional headshots and acting portfolios are a plus. Photos should reflect your current physical likeness and should always be updated!
4. DO NOT chew gum (all directors hate it). It makes it harder to understand when you are speaking or role playing.
5. When attending callbacks, always wear the same attire you wore at the first audition. Try to do everything as you did the first time because it worked!
6. Be confident, smile, always have a positive attitude.
7. Act excited about everything you are asked to do.

Audition Tips for actors/improvisation

1. Be prepared for improvisation.
2. Different voice tones and accents are a plus.
3. Prepare a dramatic and comedic monologue no more than two minutes in length.
4. Please ask and note if the auditions are going to provide sides.
